HIV is a retrovirus, a type of virus studied meticulously during two decades of federal health programs that centered around the search for a cancer virus. The idea of contagious cancer was a popular notion in the 1960s and 70s. HIV-2 is not, as is often claimed, merely another strain of HIV-1, but sufficiently different from it to be considered a distinct although related virus. There are in fact numerous strains of each of these viruses, and this will undoubtedly also be the case for a third HIV. Results of a study conducted in Uganda are often referred to by mainstream AIDS scientists as a strong evidence of the causal role of HIV in AIDS. Even though this seems to be undoubtedly true at first sight, in reality, the results are in serious contradiction with predictions of the official HIV-causes-AIDS hypothesis, and confirm the alternative hypotheses which assume that HIV is not a causal factor of AIDS.

Diagnosing AIDS as a cause of death can require advanced medical knowledge and equipment. Moreover, an unknown number of AIDS deaths go unreported because South African life insurance policies frequently do not cover AIDS-related deaths.

HIV may not be the cause of AIDS, but the overwhelming body of evidence tells us otherwise. The government is standing in the way of finding the real cause of AIDS given the amazing lack of evidence for such a statement is irresponsible. HIV weakens the ability of person to fight against the infections, diseases including cancer. Detection of AIDS depends on the amount of CD4 count. HIV is a retrovirus. Unlike the viruses that kill cells to cause degenerative diseases, retroviruses need a dividing and viable cell for replication.

Similarly, the disease is common among drug addicts who share infected needles and syringes. Similar reasoning was initially applied to SARS. Experts theorized that the patients who turned up in hospitals must be the most seriously ill, and that others might have been infected and suffered little more than cold symptoms.

Genital herpes also increases the risk of HIV infection because HIV can enter the body more easily whenever there's a break in the skin (such as a sore) during unprotected sexual contact. In addition, if a pregnant woman with genital herpes has an active infection during childbirth, the newborn baby is at risk for getting herpes infection. Genital herpes is spread easily. The virus from an infected person can enter your body by passing through a break in your skin or through the tender skin of your mouth, penis or vagina, urinary tract opening, cervix, or anus. Genital herpes lesions are usually worse the first 5 days and then gradually the pain and discomfort decreases.
